A professional artist for the past forty years, for the past ten years Garry Berteig also has worked as a professor and is currently head of the fine arts department at Keyano College in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Paintings by this well known artist grace the walls of many business offices, private homes, and public collections across Canada and internationally. This exhibition shows a series of watercolour and ink on paper paintings, drawn from explorations and discoveries in the inspirational boreal forests of northern Canada and Europe. This is the fifth exhibition in Art Gallery of Swift Current’s Homecoming Arts Series, celebrating Saskatchewan’s Centennial.
Musician, Keith Bartlett considers himself primarily a guitarist. He will delight those present with his diversity in the use of stringed instruments, song, and interaction with the audience. Keith’s ability to draw beautiful music from so many instruments is always surprising. He will play a wide variety of pieces on banjo, two types of guitars and the fiddle. In addition to playing, Keith sings and intersperses stories, humor, and bits of information throughout the performance.
